Support workers are employed on a casual basis, to work flexibly in various locations and hours, especially during out of school hours, weekends and school holidays. We offer minimum 2-hour shifts, matching the skills and availability of our support workers to the needs of the people we support. Selection of staff will be based on people’s willingness to pick up shifts that involve the above support.  Successful applicants without existing skills will be provided training in the above areas. It is an expectation that all staff perform the above duties.

Jeanne’s story

I started my journey with Interchange back in 2007 when I first volunteered on recreational based day activities and camps, I was 20 years old with no idea where I wanted to take my life or what I wanted to do with myself. A friend had recommended I volunteer at Interchange, as I am a person who enjoys meeting new people and being part of new experiences.

After organising to volunteer I could see early on that this was the kind of environment I wanted to be part of and I haven’t looked back!
